Black Friday!
I know that on one of my previous blogs I made the comment that people who go out on black Friday are insane. But I failed to mention that I was one of those people except I went to only two stores. The one and only reason I got my butt out of bed at three-thirty in the morning was to get a phone. I cell phone plan was up on Thanksgiving day and one of the phones I wanted to upgrade to was a steal on black Friday. The Samsung Captivate is a five hundred dollar phone and it is two hundred dollars with an upgrade but on black Friday Radio Shack was offering the phone for free. So yes I got up really early in the morning to stand in front of Radio Shack at four-thirty because the store opened at five-thirty. I was the third person inline standing outside in the cold at four-thirty. Once the doors opened I headed straight for the counter. The lady I was talking with that worked there said that the store only had three and I needed two. I was so excited to get the phone that I wanted and I got it for FREE!

I've done Black Friday the past five years. Our first year we went to Best Buy and I will probably never try that again. The crowds were insane and when we were shopping the lights went out and it was as close to a riot as I have ever seen. I will stick with small town Walmarts from now on for Black Friday.
ReplyDeleteI got up to Walmart this year at 11:30pm and waited it out until 5am. Had to get my younger brothers portable dvd players and a ton of dvds and video games.
Congratulations on getting the phone you needed. Did you get just one phone or did you get the two phones you needed?
Dang that sounds like a sweet deal. I didnt know that phone was so expensive. No one can blame you for beeing one of those insane people that go out on black friday. The word "free" can be pretty motivating. Ive never went out on black friday, and I probably never will. The stories I hear about it just irritate me. I just find the whole thing pretty pathetic, but hey thats me not them. My friend went to walmart and sat in an isle all night from 11 p.m till like 6 a.m or something like that. They aparently had some special deal on a laptop that he needed for school. Im not sure if that would be worth sitting on a cold hard floor all night long.
ReplyDeletethat is an awesome deal!! I actually went black friday shopping online since I didn't have anything particular I wanted to get. It was nice not having to get up early or fight the crowds. The online deals that I was looking at were pretty great too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you made a good decison on that one! I've only went shopping on black friday once, I can understand when people go for like one or two things but to actually don all of their christmas shopping is just crazy! I would rather pay a few extra dollars on some things and avoid the crowd!
ReplyDeleteDayum! that sounds pretty awesome. Yea, I would've gotten up that early for that. lol Other than that though, the store are CRAZY and almost not worth going, but yea, what you got is an amazing deal.
ReplyDeleteI had never been out on black Friday, so this year I decided to go out. I mostly did it for the experience and to see if it was really worth it. I got a couple things, but nothing really amazing. In my opinion, it’s not worth going out on black Friday. Sure, there are some good bargains, but people practically go crazy to try and get the good bargains. They say that this time of year brings out the good in people, but black Friday can bring out the worst in people. I would rather go out Christmas shopping with prices a little higher and be surrounded by shoppers in their right minds. I did learn something from my experience though, the meaning of one word: patience.
